We are once again holding our Christmas Tree Festival from 6th to 9th December despite Pickwick Night being postponed. Please book the dates in your diary and make sure you can come. If you wish to enter a tree for your chosen charity, there’s still plenty of time. Forms and explanatory letters are available from members of the committee and from Denise in the Parish Office.
We are intending to have stalls selling seasonal items. And yes, Tom is doing his hyacinths again. We’ve got some Christmas decorations, chutneys, Christmas wreaths and others. While we will be open from 12 noon on the Thursday, we are taking part in the traditional lighting of the Village Christmas Tree at 6pm on Thursday with the Town Crier Roland Hailwood setting things off with vigour, our choir plus others will be singing carols all letting people know about the tree festival in church. There will be mini concerts (to be announced) plus an opportunity to have a go at handbell ringing. Look out for the times.
If you have anything to contribute to our stalls, if you can contribute homemade cakes for the refreshments, if you can contribute a raffle prize, if you’d like to be included as part of the entertainments, please get in touch with any of the team. There will be a list at the back of church for contributions to the hamper which will be one of the main raffle prizes. Nearer the time, there will be a list for help manning the festival.
Let’s make this the biggest and best!
Thank you, the Festival team, Catherine, Kathryn, Julie, Emily, Tom and Shirley. For more information contact Catherine Duckworth on 01254 823323 or Denise in the Parish Office on 01254 823249.
