As well as being part of Whalley Remembers, our team of ringers has registered with the national Ringing World BellBoard Armistice
Event page (https://bb.ringingworld.co.uk/event.php?id=9128) along with hundreds of others to record their intentions of how they are going to mark the event by ringing the bells.
On Sunday 11th November we will be ringing before the 9.45 am service, using five bells in a Minor key, as it is not possible to muffle the bells and then easily remove them before the next ringing, which will be at 12.30 pm, as requested by the Government.  For this we plan to use all eight bells producing musical Call Changes, which we hope will provide an enjoyable background to your celebration lunch. (Please save some for us!).
Another aim of Ringing Remembers was to recruit at least 1,400 new ringers in place of those who lost their lives in WW1.  This number has already been exceeded, and Rebecca Reynolds who started to ring with us earlier this year is registered as one of those new recruits.
