Mothers’ Union has made history recently in electing its first ever Worldwide President from outside the British Isles - Mrs Sheran Harper, who lives from Guyana.   Sheran was born in the United Kingdom and grew up in Guyana where she studied at the University of the West Indies School of Physical Therapy. She stopped working in this area 17 years ago to focus on her calling of serving Mothers’ Union. She has served as a volunteer at all levels from Parish, Diocese and Province and is currently a Worldwide Trustee.  She will take up her post in January 2019 and I’m sure all Whalley M Members would like to wish her well.

Within our own Deanery - 13 members attended our Wave of Prayer service in Church on Friday 19th October.  It was a lovely little service which celebrated the work of the Mothers’ Union worldwide.
Our next meeting will be on Tuesday 27th November starting with Holy Communion in School at 7.00pm, followed by a talk entitle “A Taste of India” by Kath Bill.

We pray that our God will make us fit for what he’s called us to be,
That he’ll fill our good ideas and acts of faith with his own energy so that it all amounts to something.
As our lives honour the name of Jesus, may he honour us, by his grace.
Our God giving himself freely, the Master, Jesus Christ, giving himself freely.
